32AMP / 13AMP WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
Our 32amp tubs are larger in size and feature a 3kw heater that can power up to three pumps. Our 13amp tubs are smaller and feature a 2kw heater that can power a single pump. 13amp hot tubs tend to take longer to heat up and can also run fewer jets than a 32amp.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAT A HOT TUB?
There are various factors that will impact how quickly your tub can heat up, but in general, for every degree you want to heat up the water, you should plan on 30 minutes of heating time.
For more information on what factors affect hot tub warm-up time, check out our blog on How Long Do Hot Tubs Take to Heat Up?.

WHAT IS THE RUNNING COST OF A HOT TUB?
A typical 6 to 7 person hot tub running all year round will cost in the region of £1.50 per day for electricity and around £12 per month for water treatments. For more information on how these figures are calculated and to find out some tips and tricks for reducing your tub’s running costs, check out our blog on How Much Does It Cost to Run a Hot Tub?.
SHOULD I KEEP MY SPA HOT OR LET IT COOL DOWN?
It is better to keep the tub hot, even when you are not using it, unless you won't be using it for an extended period of time. You may think you will save energy by letting your tub cool down but heating it back up again will eat up those potential savings!
It is best to keep your hot tub at a steady cool temperature within a few degrees of what you like to use it at – we recommend around 30 degrees.

DO I NEED TO BUY ANY HOT TUB EXTRAS?
All our models include everything you will need for your hot tub, the only additional things you will need to start using your tub are chemicals. We also recommend you buy some spare parts like filters and take a look at our wide range of hot tub accessories, from cover lifters to bar packages!
IS MAINTAINING THE WATER DIFFICULT?
It can be more nerve racking than difficult for the first couple of weeks and then it is like riding a bike. Simply take a test strip, dip into the hot tub and it will then tell you what needs adding, it doesn't take more than a few minutes each day, see our maintenance page.
WHAT CHEMICALS SHOULD I USE?
We recommend using good quality branded spa chemicals as cheap chemicals do not last as long so will need to be added more frequently, losing you money in the long run. Check out our range of hot tub chemicals to get started.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO CHANGE THE WATER?
After 3 months of semi-regular use (or 1-2 months of frequent use), your hot tub water will become dirty and ready for a change. For more information on how often you should change your hot tub water and signs to look out for that your tub is due a drain, visit our blog titled How Often Should I Drain My Hot Tub?.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY HOT TUB?
Our hot tubs require a level base and most require a 32amp electrical supply. Please see our hot tub preparation guide on our delivery/installation page for more information.
DO I NEED SPECIAL PLUMBING FOR MY HOT TUB SPA?
No! That's one of the great things about a portable spa, they have a built-in heater and filtration system, and you can even leave the water in for up to four months. Simply fill your hot tub with a garden hose and drain it when necessary.
CAN I SINK MY TUB INTO THE GROUND?
Yes you can sink your tub, but we recommend positioning the tub first before building anything like decking around it, this way you can ensure access is sufficient for maintenance and draining.
CAN I USE MY HOT TUB IN THE WINTER? WHAT IF I CHOOSE NOT TO?
Many people not only use their tub in the winter but find that winter is their favourite time to get their hot water hydrotherapy! However, if you choose not to use your tub in the winter, simply drain and refill when you are ready.
CAN I COLLECT MY TUB?
Unfortunately collections are not possible as we use an independent logistics warehouse for our storage that is not set up to deal with public collections.
ARE SPARE PARTS AVAILABLE?
Yes, at Premier Hot Tubs we stock all the spare parts you may need! Our hot tubs are also made using parts from worldwide respected brands like Balboa, Gecko and LX, so spare parts are readily available throughout the UK.
